Cole Olson commits to play at Minot State for the 2013-2014 season.
MINOT, N.D. — The reloading for the 2013-2014 season continues with one of Head Coach Wade Regier’s biggest recruits this off season. Cole Olson (Deloraine, MB, Canada) leading scorer for the Estevan Bruins of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) has committed to play for the Beavers this upcoming season. Cole becomes the 11th off season recruit and 3rd recruit from the SJHL one of the premier Junior A hockey leagues in North America. Cole had 46 goals, 76 assists for 122 points in 168 games over 3 seasons with the Bruins.
“Cole is another major recruit for this program. He has been one of the best play makers in the SJHL for the past two seasons. He is the type of player that makes his line mates and teammates that much better. We have been recruiting Cole all season knowing full well he had many other options to choose from. Having Cole in our line up next year is extremely important. With the loss of many forwards to graduation we needed a player with Cole’s talent and experience to step in right away. He will be a very exciting player to watch and we are excited he has chosen us to further his hockey and education.”
Cole is very familiar Minot State University. Cole’s older brother Mitch was the starting first baseman for Minot State University Baseball.
