Head Coach Wade Regier has finalized his coaching staff for the 2014-2015 season.

MINOT, N.D. — With the departure of Assistant Coach Danny Urban who is graduating from Minot State University this spring with a triple major degree in business, Head Coach Wade Regier needed to bring in a new staff. After six weeks and many resumes submitted, Regier has hired three coaches for the 2014-2015 season. Tim Kirby, Jordan Willert and Josh Rutherford will make up the staff.

Tim Kirby was a member of the Air Force Academy from 2009-2012. He was an All American defenseman and Hobey Baker finalist in 2012. Tim brings NCAA experience to the program and will be responsible for working with the defense. Coach Regier on Kirby being a part of the program: “Tim’s playing career speaks for itself. To have an NCAA Division 1 All American and Hobey Baker Finalist on my staff is pretty remarkable. Tim’s experience and success as a defenseman at the highest college level will be a huge asset for our defensive core. I look forward to leaning on Tim’s past experiences especially working with our defense.”

Jordan Willert a local product from Minot, N.D. worked is way through the Minot minor hockey system. He played three years for Minot High and three years for the Tri City Storm of the USHL. From there he played hockey for three years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha before transferring over to Minot in 2012 to be an important part of the Beavers National Championship team. Jordan will be responsible for working with the forwards. Coach Regier on Willert being back with the program: “Jordan is going to be a tremendous asset to work with our forwards. He has the experience of playing in the USHL, the NCAA and was an integral part of our national championship team in 2013. Additionally Jordan is from Minot and will be a huge asset for us in the community.”

Josh Rutherford a fresh graduate from the Beavers this past season will join the staff as an assistant coach focused on recruiting. Rutherford was a member of the Beavers from 2011-2014. During his playing career at Minot State, Rutherford was selected to the All Star Game in 2012. Coach Regier on Rutherford staying with the program “Josh had a great career at Minot State University. One of his greatest assets was assisting me with many recruiting initiatives while being a member of our team. I will count on Josh to assist me in all recruiting aspects of the program.”
